Derek Hinton, DOTJobHistory's CEO and managing partner has 20 years experience in the field of employment screening and criminal records. He began his career with DAC Services (later USIS) in 1984 and left to start DOTJobHistory in 2003. He is a frequent writer, expert witness and speaker on the topics of commercial driver recruiting, screening, negligent hiring and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. His monthly column The Hire Road appears in several nationwide trucking magazines and has won two Gold Awards from the Truck Writers of North America Association for best article of the year.
