3. How does DOTJobHistory.com help employers, recruiters and safety directors?
DOTJOB takes the guesswork out of the early hiring process by providing you with independently pre-verified facts about your driver applicants. No longer are you forced to accept applicants' statements about whom they are or what they did, only to find out later that this information is somewhat less than true.
When you obtain reports on applicants who have used the DOTJOB service, you know you are dealing with bona fide applicants who are ready, willing and able to have their information verified independently. That saves you time and money in the recruiting process.

4. How do I use DOTJOB to verify the applicant I am considering?
Go to DOTJobHistory.com and key in the access code and ID of the applicant. You may obtain this information from the driver verbally, via email, or the driver may have attached the information to the mailed or on-line employment application. Simply enter the ID and access code into our system, and you can instantly see an applicant's Verification Report. (See Samples).

5. What Information am I provided?
The basic service includes a MVR (in most states), an Identity Authentication/SSN screen, an Infraction/Criminal record database search (which includes a check of available sex and violent offender records as well as designated foreign nationals) and may contain other information the driver has stored in his AppPak™ such as his “DAC” report, a National Driver Register record, accident report, military discharge papers and safe driving awards. (You can review more information about these reports here) Applicants do not have the ability to change or modify these reports.
DOTJOB also independently verifies past employment and education if the driver has chosen the premium service. This information, which we have independently verified through our own efforts, belongs exclusively to DOTJOB. A Job Seeker cannot modify information that has been verified by DOTJOB. The Job Seeker has a text box after each DOTJOB verification where they can add their version of events or special qualifications (such as a safe driving award) that they can append to their verified record. (See Samples).

6. How does the screening performed by DOTJOB differ from other services?
Using DOTJOB, you can review a candidate who has obtained and stored factual information concerning his driving, criminal and employment history. Many job sites use the word “screened” simply to mean that the applicant’s non-verified job application, work record, or resume is submitted to some sort of matching software. When DOTJOB says a candidate is “screened” we mean that we have conducted independent professional checks to verify the information.
While DOTJOB applicants cannot alter the verified section of the report, the applicant may review the information and add more detail for you to review up-front along with the verified portion.

7. What is a Job Seeker ID?
The Job Seeker ID is an applicant’s e-mail address. Each applicant using the DOTJOB service will supply their Job Seeker ID and provide you an access code so that you may retrieve their information.

8. What is an Access Code?
An Access Code is a code word or set of numbers that a Job Seeker may give to a prospective employer to allow that employer to access his or her online AppPak™ with DOTJOB. Use of Access Codes allows Job Seekers to protect their information from unwarranted access.

9. Do applicants know that I looked at their Reports?

10. What information is contained in a AppPak™?
A MVR (in most states), an Identity Authentication/SSN screen, an Infraction/Criminal record database search (which includes a check of available sex and violent offender records as well as designated foreign nationals) and other information the driver has stored in his AppPak such as his “DAC” report, a National Driver Register record, accident report, military discharge papers and safe driving awards. (You can review more information about these reports here) Applicants do not have the ability to change or modify these reports.
DOTJOB also verifies employment and education information for the past 3 years when the driver chooses this option. For employment, DOTJOB will attempt to verify start date, end date, any safe driving awards, whether the position was a safety sensitive job, the reason for leaving, driver experience, equipment operated, load types, number of accidents, DOT drug and alcohol testing history for the past 3 years and other information that is job related or required by the DOT.

12. Can DOTJOB guarantee I will hire the best applicant for the job?

13. I am a recruiting or staffing firm. Can I use DOTJOB?
YES! If a Job Seeker provides a staffing agency or recruiter with a DOTJOB access code and job seeker ID, then that candidate can be instantly verified. For a staffing firm, a DOTJOB verified applicant could be sent out to work that day! For recruiters, DOTJOB saves valuable time and energy by giving instant verification. Staffing firms and recruiters can cut the placement time dramatically by suggesting to Job Seekers that they obtain their AppPak™.

14.
If I use DOTJOB, do I need any other background check?
An employer should still conduct whatever due diligence they normally perform. The value of DOTJOB is to help employers sort through a sea of resumes and applications and focus on those candidates who are willing to have their qualifications scrutinized by DOTJOB. An employer is still well advised to take their normal steps to make sure a person is a good fit for the job and organization.

15. What is a V-Score?
"VScore" is short for verification score and is a measurement of the level of public record data that confirms the information provided. The fraud and identity theft experts agree that effective identity verification requires verification of several elements of personal identifying information against numerous reliable and up to date sources. A verification system should not only verify individual identifying elements, but should also analyze association between data elements, flagging inconsistencies that may indicate risk. So the V-Score is just a measurement of how well all your data correlates.
